Our Services

From a simple AI to Embryo Services and ICSI, we have you covered.

Artificial Insemination (AI)

Artificial Insemination (AI)

The first step will be to scan the mare and see where she is in her cycle, if she is in season then at the appropriate time she can be induced for ovulation and then inseminated. If she is not in season but is at the right stage of her cycle, she can be given a PG injection to ‘short cycle’ her, she should come in to season around 4 days later.
Once your mare is in season, the vet will monitor the growth of the follicles which contain oocytes (eggs). Usually there is one dominant follicle that the vet will follow, this is the follicle that is most likely to produce an ovulation (release of the oocyte).

Storing Frozen Embryos allows for a more convenient way of transferring from a Donor to a Recipient Mare. By avoiding the need for the mares to be synchronized, Embryos can be collected from the Donor at any point throughout the season, stored throughout the winter and transferred at the beginning of the breeding season. Storing your Mare's Embryos also allows for the added relief that should the worst happen, your mare's legacy is protected and can be passed on.
